Cadiz liegt auf einer Landzunge, die sich vor die Mündung des Rio de San Pedro schiebt. Sehr reizvoll quasi mitten im Atlantik. Von der einen Seite wogen die Wellen dagegen, auf der andere Seite ein große Hafenanlage mit schwerem Gerät und Schiffbau. Ziemlich großer Hafen.
Dies Stadt ist sehr regelmäßig orthogonal angelegt. Selbst in der Altstadt sind die Straßen sehr regelmäßig von Ost nach West und Nord nach Süd. An manchen Stellen kann man zur einen Seite den Atlantik und zur anderen die Bucht sehen. Sieht wirklich spssig aus.
In der Stadt die obligatorische Kathedrale und ein paar sehr schöne Plätze, die zum Verweilen und Cafe con leche einladen. Ansonsten ist die Altstadt sehr übersichtlich. Vielleicht liegt das an der Regelmäßigkeit…
Lange hält es uns nicht, da wir auf die andere Seite der Bucht nach Puerto de Santa Maria zur Nachtruhe müssen. So richtig viel verpassen wir auch nicht.
