Das Örtchen ist überschaubar, die Abtei, eine Benediktinerabtei, eher nicht übersehbar. Eine wirklich grosses barockes „Monstrum“. Balthasar Neumann hat die Kirche entworfen, hat den Bau und die Fertigstellung aber nicht mehr erlebt. Ein Schüler stellte sie fertig. Die Fresken stammen von Martin Knoller, so auf Anhieb eher nicht bekannnt. Das ganze gehört aber zum Größten und mit zum Bedeutendsten des späten Barocks. Die Details der Fresken laden ein zum studieren. Man braucht aber einen Feldstecher. Die Kuppeln sind über 30 m hoch….
